But Grzegorz, the installer (also very kind and incredibly resourceful) ordered a digger for his new location without a problem, arranged the Styrofoam around it properly, and filled it with soil. It turns out that when I put the potatoes in in October, I took them out in February as if they were fresh from the store. I’ve been using it for three seasons now, and it’s been flawless, even though winters have been mixed, the last one dipped to minus 30 degrees, and the vegetables are in great shape. I highly recommend it. Unlike concrete ones, this one is 100% waterproof and quick to install, as there’s no need to lubricate them, wait for them to dry, etc. I recommend getting it assembled, because they really know what they’re doing and do it quickly and efficiently. Groundwater

In many European countries, in most places, the groundwater level is usually very close to the surface. In summer, this level can drop significantly. However, in autumn, during periods of increased rainfall, the groundwater level rises very high, often flush with the surface. The same situation occurs in spring, when snow melts. How resistant will your cellar be to groundwater?

Concrete cellar it does not have a one-piece construction. It consists of separate elements that remain movable even after assembly. This does not allow the concrete cellar to be fully insulated from groundwater. After one to two years, the pressure of the ground shifts the elements of the concrete cellar, disturbs the waterproofing, which leads to the ingress of groundwater inside the cellar. After that, it is not possible to repair the leak from inside the cellar.

Cellar Natural FRIDGE® it has a complete body made of plastic, manufactured as one piece. It is reinforced with a steel frame and is completely airtight. The groundwater level does not matter.

Moisture and mold on the cellar walls

Concrete has a porous, uneven structure. The walls of the concrete cellar absorb moisture and are ideal for the growth of mold and fungus.

The walls of the Natural FRIDGE® plastic cellar are made of smooth plastic that does not absorb water. Due to the gravity ventilation system, they are always dry and do not allow the appearance of mold.

Frame and shelves

What rack to install in the concrete basement? You can buy ready-made racks, but in conditions of high humidity of a concrete basement, they rust very quickly. Preparing a special rack with good corrosion protection for the size of your basement can be very expensive.

The frame of the Natural FRIDGE® garden cellar is made of a steel profile covered with polymer paint. It is made with a large safety margin and is corrosion resistant. Plywood shelves are covered with a triple protective layer, thanks to which they will last for a long time.

Interior finishing

The inner surface of a concrete cellar is very similar to a rough house. It also requires puttying, painting walls, laying the floor. It is an expensive and time-consuming job.
